Fashion show at the main with the very handsome Noah.

One of my favorite sailing clothing companies is Marina Yachting, an Italian clothing company out of Genova, Italy. Discovering their brand and falling in love with their spinnaker logo in 1997 in Varazze, Italy, I continue to hunt down their clothing. Their jackets are a must have and remain a classic in any wardrobe. If you are ever in the EU, check out their other shops: Henry Cotton's, Moncler, and coast weber ahaus.

To watch the well chronicled history of Marina Yachting starting in 1878 to present, click on this link: http://www.marinayachting.it/#storia. To view the video, select the HERITAGE link at the bottom of the webpage and enjoy.

Here's the American Youth Sailing Force boat - Instead of having to 'turn' their boat or switch positions, they were both at the bow.

That's us on the boat. What a fun race!

Sailing the Summer Sailstice in SF 2013

At around 8:30 at night, we took one of the 'made that day' boat from Alameda to Oakland to find a sailboat for a midnight sail to Marin.

Sailing the Summer Sailstice in SF 2013

I'm not sure if the boat was rocking because we were laughing so much or if it was really that unstable. We almost fell out 6 times before getting to the other harbor. Took us about 1.5 hours to get to the Knarr 30.

By the time we got to the Knarr, it was getting dark, but still warm out. The three of us were dress in flip flops, shorts, lifejackets and fully prepared for the next 5 hours of sailing at night.

Once landed, stoke was high.

Now off to find the Knarr and sail away to Marin. We got into Marin about 3:30AM. What a ride! What a moon!

Deltron 3030 at Stern Grove San Francisco

Deltron 3030 at Stern Grove 2013

Deltron 3030 was like a rap opera in the park. DJ's playing, Del rapping, conductor conducting an orchestra all under a canopy of eucalyptus trees. Magical.  Deltron 3030 is composed of: rapper Del The Funky Homosapien, DJ Kid Koala, and producer Dan “The Automator” Nakamura. Some very solid talent on this stage.

Stern Grove Festival is an admission-free performing arts series in a beautiful outdoor amphitheater located at 19th Avenue and Sloat Boulevard in San Francisco. In 2013, Stern Grove Festival will present its 76th Season.

Some amazing history about the grove "Stern Grove was purchased by Rosalie M. Stern and given as a gift to the City of San Francisco in 1931, in memory of her husband Sigmund, a prominent civic leader. George Greene originally homesteaded the Grove - a tract of sand dunes and marshes - in the 1840's. The Greene family planted the first eucalyptus trees in the Grove and built the Trocadero Inn, a popular recreation spot until its closure in 1916." There is a short, but steep walk into Stern Grove.  Once in the park, it's all flat and there are services for seniors and disabled patrons

Friends of ours got there at 8:30AM to reserve a space for the 10 of us. Note that blankets left unoccupied for more than an hour will be removed and can be collected at lost and found. Lucky our friend hung-out at the blanket area the whole time!

If you don't get there early, you're up in the tree house area.

Kid Koala opened and he started off great with a tribute to MCA, Adam Yauch, from the Beastie Boys, but then lost me with some crazy grandma song. I think he might have had some technical issues with his deck, because I couldn't hear any mixing or effects... other than the song.

Cousin of Ice Cube, Del The Funky Homosapien hails straight outta the nickel dime...Oakland, California. His first solo album was released in 1991 'I Wish My Brother George Was Here' and Mistadobalina was loved ever since. Del was also part of Oakland's Hieroglyphics, whose original members included Souls of Mischief. Souls of Mischief's '93 'til Infinity' is one of the best albums to date.

Del's set was amazing! If you want to read an amazing review of Deltron 3030, check out Top Five Records writeup of Deltron 3030 Live at Stern Grove. Much more technical write up and very solid information about the concert.
